Sogand Tayebinaz PhD Candidate in Finance University of North Carolina at Charlotte
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Finance at the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and am currently on the academic job market. My research focuses on corporate finance, executive compensation, and credit risk, with a particular interest in how managerial incentives and credit markets interact to shape corporate financial decisions.
My job market paper, “CEO Incentive Alignment, CDS Markets, and Credit Risk,” examines how CEO incentive structures relate to CDS coverage and the pricing of credit risk, as well as how CDS markets influence CEO compensation design. My broader research examines corporate financial policies, credit markets, and emerging financial technologies.
I am also an experienced Instructor of Record at UNC Charlotte, where I have taught Financial Management and Investments across in-person, synchronous online, and asynchronous formats. My teaching has been recognized through my selection for the university-wide Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award.
